Unscripted love…
Lananh + Troy | Couple session
Meet this adorable soon-to-be little family (and my second family); Lananh, Troy, Cujo + Hamlet.
We always have so much fun when we make time for eachother. Love you guys!

Kim + George | Couple session in COLOR
I went through my photos the other night and realized the color photos of this lovely couple was just great!
So here goes, Kim + George times TWO.

Kim + George | Couple session
Brent + Bea | Wedding | St. Augustine, FL
So… I had the pleasure of working with Darice again for another wedding. I’m still newbie at this whole wedding photography thing but I survived unscathed.
It was just so beautiful and we couldn’t have asked for better weather. It was such a pleasure to have worked with such great people.

Butterfly Rainforest | Gainsville, FL
I didn’t want to muck up my blog with so many random photos but… it’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to.
Trong and I drove all the way to Gainsville for BUTTERFLIES! It was worth the drive and I would highly recommend this place for any and all nature lovers! The very last photo I call ‘beautifully broken’.
Enjoy: Butterfly Rainforest

Jennifer + Robert | Couple session
Wow, I’m really back at this thing again. Not sure when I stopped but it seems to have picked up all of sudden.
Meet Jennifer, Robert and Jaden. When I asked for some adorable faces for my portfolio, I got them.

Cynthia | Model shoot
Meet Cynthia, a local hair stylist at salonp^k. I just loved the way she moved, arched and bent her body. She definitely worked it for the camera.

Katie | Model Shoot
Meet Katie; a dancer. She drove all the way in from Orlando for a beach shoot! I’ll have more pictures to post as I go through them but this shoot, I immensely enjoyed.
Thanks again Katie!!! Maybe one day you can teach me yoga or even how to do that thing you do with your legs… Trong would surely love you for it!

China | Model shoot
Meet China, a local fashion consultant/makeup artist/personal shopper and wardrobe organizer! I thought I had too many irons in the fire but this girl handles her ‘biz like a true hustler. Kudos to her!
She looked AMAZING for this shoot. And we had such a great time.

iPhone fotos.
I’m really not sure how I ever survived without my iPhone before I got it. Whatever the case, I LOVE my phone! Check out the camera’s quality.

Happy Earth Day Earthlings!
Ah, yes… Happy Earth Day. Have you hugged a tree today? I have!
Today’s assignment is to take pictures of everything green. How is that depth of field?!

Jacksonville’s First Cupcake Bakery!
SLAP me, I’m in heaven! CamiCakes has opened another store location near Tinseltown… and closer to ME! The store is about the most adorable thing to happen to cupcakes. And the staff is the friendliest. The cupcakes are to die for. And it’s closer to ME, ME, ME!

Casey | Model Shoot
Meet Casey, a super sweet and super gorgeous Southern Belle. We had this idea of shooting someone in the country, near a barn and in a field. The country side in Green Cove Springs allowed us to do just that. It sure was a nice getaway for all of us.
A few things happened:
1) Erica hit herself in the face with the reflector card… awww.
2) I got bit by fire ants! (when do i not get bit?)
3) There was a HUGE snake just chillin’.
4) We walked through a field that had cow dung everywhere. Guess who had flip flops on?! *raise hand*
I love my job!

Kathryn + Tireney | Model shoot
Trong and I had to the pleasure of shooting some hair, make-up and clothing photos for a local hair salon; Salon^PK. Despite the wind, the photos turned out great and these girls definitely worked it! I will have more photos of this shoot to share soon.
Come again! (I just kind of felt like saying that.) hehe

It’s not the photographer, it’s the lens.
So how much is everybody loving the fact that there’s daylight long after getting home from work?!?! I love, love, love it.
I picked up the camera again today… for no reason at all. I did discover two things 1) I have a pretty COLORFUL life and 2) I am a picture taking FREAK! If you love random photos as much as I do, continue scrolling. I used my new 17-70 mm f/2.8 lens for these shots.

Courtney | Fun photoshoot
Meet Kate Winslet. Hehe, kidding. This is Courtney. As a favor from her best bud, Monique, a photoshoot was requested as a gift for her 18th birthday. What an awesome gift!!!

Adrialyn + Eric Larson | Wedding | St. Augustine, FL
Let me introduce everyone to my new lady friend, Darice Michelle of Darice Michelle Photography. She’s my super hip and super cool Master photographer who’s taken me under her wing. There’s something in the way Darice does what she does that simply blows me away. It was a pleasure to have had the opportunity to work with her.
With that said, this past weekend I had the opportunity of being a part of 1) Team Darice, 2) a BEAUTIFUL wedding in a CASTLE built for a queen and 3) something wickedly hardcore… behind the scenes action of wedding photojournalism in its finest form. Here’s to the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
AND the wedding… it was BEAUTIFUL!

Life is beautiful and such…
Just to add to my forever-so-crazy-and-busy life, I had the joy of organizing my sister’s baby shower. After weeks and weeks of preparation (and two gray hairs to show for it), it was a success! Not a whole lot can be said about it… it was just so beautiful. Notice the baby shower invitation and the baby shower cake… Publix did a phenomenal job, did they not?!
Oh, I also wanted to thank my precious lady friends who helped me along the way. There are just too many of you to only name a few but from the bottom of my heart… thank you all. It means the world to me and it means the world to her. I will name one person though… Tali. You, my dear, are an angel. And my sister is lucky to have you in her life. I too gained another sister in this whole experience. My heart and my home will always be open to you. Thank you.
Road trips have always been a beautiful thing for me. I wanted to stop 65 times to take pictures of the back roads of FL, GA and AL but the MAN wasn’t having it. Here are just a few…

Erica | Fun photoshoot
Meet my super cool and super adorable assistant; Erica. I admire her love for the arts and for 80s fashion. And 80s fashion in 2008 is a beautiful thing!!!
You will be seeing more of her in the near future.
Again Erica, thank you for being a part of my dream. And welcome to Team Miss Phom!

You’ll catch me ridin’ dirty.
I wonder if me being a mechanics daughter has anything to do with my love for cars. I can almost name the make and model of every car I see on the road just by seeing the headlights. It’s crazy, I know… especially for me being a girl!
For the 8th time, the Honda Accord made #1 Consumer Report’s family sedan. Mine is an ‘04 but I LOVE it like it’s an ‘08.
FYI: I wash and detail my car all by myself. My daddy would be proud.

Lilia | Model shoot
Meet Lilia, a super sweet and super gorgeous local model: Lilia B. With my red eyes and all, the three of us headed out to this diamond in the rough photo shoot spot. This place was pretty hardcore, even for me. And Miss Phom knows hardcore (even when speaking in third person).
Not only was the location amazing but the weather was the perfect calm before the storm.
Thanks again Lilia for being a part of my dream. It was a pleasure to have met you. Best wishes.

Happy Sunday!
I didn’t ask but I’m sure against doctor’s orders I wasn’t supposed to go to the beach. But I did. Trong and I went to Joe’s Crabshack today for lunch. Two things; the food was SICK (in the AMAZINGLY appetizing kinda way) and the weather was SICK (in the AMAZINGLY lukewarm/cool kinda way)!
I also wanted to check out my fish eye lens’ potential.
After that, Trong and I went to the park where… at 31 years old, with help from his nephew, he flew his very first kite. It even had spiderman on it.

Happy Love, Love, Love Day all.
Hope everyone had an amazing Valentine’s Day. Trong and I celebrated our fifth together eating steak and lobster in the comfort of our own home. I know! Five years? I’m totally like WOW too.
My surgery went well. I came out seeing 20/15 which I think is better than 20/20. I was scared, nervous, happy, excited and anxious all at the same time. The scariest part of the whole ordeal was the cutting of the ‘flap’. And for whatever reason, I thought my eyes were bleeding which they weren’t. Overall, the experience and the results were… well, are astounding THANKS to Bowden Eye Associates serving the local Jacksonville area.
For Valentine’s Day, Trong got me a fish eye foo’!
Haha, that’s a 10-17mm wide-angle fish eye lens. I LOVE it! And I love him more.

I can see clearly now, the rain is gone…
I take that back. I will see clearly soon… really soon.
I’ve been mentally and emotionally preparing myself for this day for a while. I’ve also been genetically near-sighted (and BLIND) for a really long time. So my attempts of living a visually-unchallenged lifestyle has been long overdue.
This means… Wednesday, that’s THREE days from now, I will undergo the CustomVue Lasik Eye Corrective surgery. In a way, I’m antsy about getting it done. In a way, I’m not. To everything good, there’s bad. Good or bad, there’s no turning back now. Pray for me that all goes well.
That’s my eye by the way… PRE-surgery.

Jacksonville Zoo + Gardens
There’s something I notice now with regular civilians (or non-photographers) when I walk around with a nice SLR camera in hand; respect. Not that I demand respect while walking around the zoo or the beach or downtown Jacksonville, but it’s funny how people will move out of my way or wave and smile at me like I’m actually somebody special, doing something important. Those who know me know I’m actually pretty soft spoken and humble so it’s just not something I’m used to experiencing. Honestly… it actually kind of weirds me out.
Anyway, Trong and I went to the Jacksonville Zoo + Gardens today with intentions of photographing nature’s beautiful creations. We accomplished that and then some. The first photo of the lotus flower is my all-time favorite.

Von | Montgomery, AL | Model shoot
Meet Von. She’s super sweet and super sexy. I figured since I was shooting through Alabama, I’d set up another photo shoot with another gorgeous lady friend. Enjoy!

Here goes…
another nonsense entry. The purpose of this blog originally was about me posting photos of clients and photo shoots. Well, I’m finding out January and possibly February are the coldest months of the year, even in Florida.
I’m still in the early stages of my future in photography so I still like random picture taking of nouns; people, places and things. I will start this entry with hopes of appending to it with random nonsense photos. If this is of no interest to you, just scroll down really, really fast.
Because it rained all day yesterday, I had to quickly take these pictures of the camellias still in bloom. Instead of diamonds being a girl’s best friend, flowers should be. Ummm… I take that back, I meant ‘in addition to diamonds’.

Trong’s corner office where he makes all the magic happen.

Those who know me, know I have this underlining love for interior design. And those who have been to my house know I have a knack for making colors somehow match and sync. The way the light hit this vase of rocks and sticks put me in the picture taking mood.

Randomness.

Is it spring yet?
I think I’m ready for spring weather. Last weekend was cold and wet. This weekend, cold and wet.
I’ve had two uneventful and unproductive weekends in a row. Like the books that lay on my end table, I’ve had to quarantine photo shoots. And you want to know what? Boredom leads to random picture taking of me and my pup pup.
Let’s all pray together for clear blue skies and warm weather.

Happy Friday!
Today, the love of my life surprised me with the beautifulest flowers and card. Who’s the luckiest girl in the entire world wide web?! That would be me.

James + Alicia | Couple session
Meet the coolest and cutest couple of the year! Already? I know! These two had chemistry like I’ve never seen; I kid you not. My job was actually pretty easy; just point and shoot, shoot and point. I didn’t even have to open my mouth to direct either of the two on how to pose or how to be natural. It was marvelous. The couple took the time out and drove all the way here from Gainsville for a beach photo shoot. I couldn’t have asked for better weather, even in January. Good luck and best wishes to the couple in chasing those dreams!
I wish I was able to capture photos of the dozens of dolphins dancing in the water. It was probably the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. Next time.
Side note: I don’t watch a ton of football… Honestly, I don’t watch any football but I would have to say: GO JAGS!

Davon | Montgomery, AL | Model shoot
Trips back home never fail to get the best of my immune system. Whatever it is that’s lingering, I don’t like it and I don’t enjoy what it’s doing to my sinuses. What a way to start the new year off?! Happy New Year by the way. Hope everyone has a delightful and prosperous year ahead of them!
Meet Davon. She’s super sweet and super gorgeous; even after giving birth to an almost two month old baby boy. Not that a baby would make anyone less sweet or less gorgeous, I’m just saying.
Anyway, congrats to this sexy mama.

Thea | Montgomery, AL | Model shoot
Christmas weekend, I had the pleasure of working with a friend who I’ve known since I was six. She was only two or three at the time but after twenty years, she was still as adorable as ever. The weather in Montgomery was colder than I originally anticipated but we had a great time. Meet the duckies and Miss Thea. Both were equally adorable.

Christmas… so soon?
Christmas and New Years will be here and gone before we know it. What happened to this year? It’s like I blinked and December came.
Anyway, meet Maddox, my almost four year Jack Russell Terriorist. I love him to no end. I wish he felt the same about the camera. I’m not sure if it was the camera or the Santa hat that made him look so uneasy.

Christmas came early for me this year. Thanks to penny pinching and my girl Thip for the hook-up, I purchased my first IS (image stabilizing) lens. It was worth every penny spent, wouldn’t you agree?

Monique | Random shoot
I always have so much fun with Monique. We tried a few different areas with her just to get a feel for other things Jacksonville has to offer. We ran into the coolest and most huggable swarm of ducks!
Aww, to that.

Thanks again Monique! I had such a great time. You totally rocked it!!!

Alan | Model shoot
We had the pleasure of working with Alan, a local aspiring model. Once again, the model and the weather was perfect. When is it not right?! How we got the couch from the living room to the truck to the beach, I will leave up to your imagination.
Enjoy!

Heather + Sophie + Riley | Family Session
Meet my favoritest Hello Kitty princesses; Sophie and Riley. I’ve been trying to fit in a family session with this adorable family for a while. Everytime we set a date, it would rain. So in the beginning of December, we finally made it to the beach. The surf was a bit rough at first but we made it work.
Thanks again Heather, Miss Sophie and Miss Riley. As always, I had a great time with you all!

Bao | Kid Session
Well HELLO Team Miss Phom!!! (*waves Hi while brushing the dust off the blog) I missed you guys too.
Meet Trong’s nephew, Bao. He’s super sweet. He’s super funny. And he’s our special little buddy. You’ll be seeing a lot of him in years to come.

Debbie + Kristin + Brandon | Family session
After weeks of trying to fit in a family session in with my sweetest lady friend, I finally got one! Kristin and Brandon were perfect. The weather was perfect. The photos captured their giddily exuberant personalities perfectly!
Thanks again Deb! I had an amazing time!

Yes, yes, yes…
If you haven’t heard or seen, the new website is finally up! Thank you all for the encouraging comments and the positive feedback. It truly means the world to me. And thanks again to the love of my life for never failing to make it all happen for me. He continues to be the vision while I continue to be the brains behind our little empire of creativity. Ha Ha. That was cute!
While going to pick up dinner this evening, I kept commenting on how beautiful the color of the sky was. The complimentary colors of blue and orange were crazy intense and pretty darn cool. It’s funny how every aspect of my life could turn into the perfect picture:
